Production Schedule

Docsmit uses two mail production schedules based on the mail class you select. To be included in a specific production run, your order has to be submitted by the times indicated below:

All times are Eastern Time (ET).

Orders received after the cutoff time will be processed in the next available production cycle.

Weekend & Holiday Schedule

Our production facility operates on business days. When you submit orders over a weekend or holiday, we process them according to the following schedule.

  • Priority Mail: We hand off orders you place after 11:55 AM ET on Friday, or anytime during the weekend, to the USPS on the following Monday.
  • First Class & Certified Mail: We give orders you place after 7:55 PM ET on Friday, or anytime during the weekend, to the USPS on the following Monday.

Note: We follow the same schedule for federal holidays and will process your mail on the next business day..

Understanding Production vs. USPS Transit Time

It’s important to distinguish between our production time and the USPS’s delivery time.

  • “Handoff to USPS” means we printed, assembled, and delivered your mail piece to the United States Postal Service. They process and deliver it.
  • “USPS Transit Time” is the additional time the USPS takes to deliver the mail piece to its final destination. This begins after our handoff.
